It's official. There is no turning back now.
We've given into the iPhone. Sibling texting chatrooms now make it possible to be awakened at all hours of the night as those on other sides of the country chime in with their say on things. Layovers at the airport consist of us playing "Words with Friends" with those sitting in the chair next to us. Mom is very surprised to be talking "face to face" with us on facetime when she thought she was actually making a phone call.
BUT. Along with the iPhone has come a newfound appreciation for Instagram and a love for Instagrammery! And so, please find our blog now accessorized with sneak-peaks of Lara's Instagram feed where you will see the life moments that happen between the crafting.
Or, perhaps the crafting happens inbetween these real-life moments.

Knotted Fleece Blanket
One of my friends just moved to Colorado and before she left, I noticed that she didn't really have any huge, SUPER cozy blankets. So with the crazy Black Friday deals at Joann's, I snagged some fleece for $3 a yard and whipped up this snuggly blanket. I won't bother to write a tutorial since everyone and their mom's cousin has, but enjoy the finished product!

Brown paper packages tied up with strings...
these are a few of my favorite things! A cozy crochet scarf with some simple wrapping. {A friend at church has been whipping up these scarves for me to give to teachers, sisters, etc. Definitely a great go-to present! Tutorial here}

Pacifier Clips
One of my family's very dear friends just had her second baby, an ADORABLE little girl:) A few weeks ago, I had purchased a few trims to use for pacifier clips. Unfortunately, one of them got left behind:'( But here are the other two!
Supplies:
- Pretty trims that would be perfect for the baby;)
- Velcro
- Suspender clips
Cut 4 pieces velcro that are slightly smaller than the width of the trims
Sew one piece onto the very end. (I sew a square, and then do an "X" through the middle.)
Sew the second piece about 1/4" away from the first.
Loop the other end through the suspender clip and sew back and forth a few times.
And there you have your adorable pacifier clips! These are so simple, and certainly beat the store-bought ones! Now, to find a cute way to do it for boys:)

Chocolate truffles
Just some yummy bites that Lara and a friend made. Simple enough: crushed Oreos, cream cheese, peppermint extract. Mix until you get the desired consistency and enjoy by the hundreds!;) well maybe not quite. But I'll warn you, you'll eat a lot!

Crochet bracelet........and fall leaves
A few months ago, I created a crochet board on my Pinterest. I don't crochet at all, but a friend at church can crochet up a storm! Here's a fun but simple little bracelet that she made me:) You'll definitely be seeing more of her work on here:) {I'm hiring her to make some AWESOME Christmas presents!}
Oh, and some beautiful fall leaves that Lara found near our house. So sad that they're all gone now, but so excited for Christmas!

Pumpkin Gala
While fall-time has been a very busy season for us thus far, we did manage to plan and host a pumpkin-inspired gala with a small group of girlfriends.
First stop- Gary's Farm to choose the perfect pumpkin!
Leaves and pinecones Lara gathered along a sidewalk.
Each person received an envelope containing the recipes we used for the gala.
Pages were torn from an old dictionary and scattered along the table, making a fun backdrop for the centerpiece we created out of items gathered in nature and small bird figurines.
Before dinner, we split into groups of two and worked on pumpkin-inspired treats.
Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!
Pupmkin butter for each guest to take home.
Pumpkin Chocolate Bark with Almonds and dried Cranberries
After dinner, we brought out our chosen pumpkins for a craft time.
Mod Podge and paper napkins is all it takes!
A collage of pumpkins!
We're already thinking of next year... perhaps a hazelnut-inspired gala!
